Position: Instructional Designer
Location: Los Angeles, CA (5 days onsite )
Duration: 3-6 Month with extension
Pay Rate: $70/hr W2 or $80hr C2C
Position Overview: We are seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Instructional Designer with advanced skills in digital learning, UX design, and multimedia production. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end design and development of engaging, interactive, and media-rich e-learning experiences that drive measurable outcomes. You will combine adult learning theory, visual storytelling, and cutting-edge tools to design scalable, learner-centric experiences. This includes scripting AI-generated video using Synthesia, designing intuitive learning interfaces using Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Other tools considered such as Figma.
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop innovative digital learning solutions (asynchronous, synchronous, mobile, and blended) based on sound instructional strategies and user experience (UX) principles. Conduct needs assessments, learner and audience analysis, and content gap reviews to craft tailored learning experiences. Lead the development of e-learning courses using:
Articulate Storyline 360 Articulate Rise Adobe Captivate Camtasia
Develop and integrate AI-generated video content using Synthesia or Pictory, with custom avatars and voiceovers. Create engaging animated and video content using:
Adobe After Effects Adobe Animate Adobe Premiere Pro
Design learner interfaces, wireframes, and mockups (like Figma browser-based UI/UX design platform known for its collaborative prototyping, real-time editing, and interface design capabilities). Build and edit multimedia assets with Adobe Creative Cloud tools:
Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects
Collaborate closely with SMEs, graphic designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to bring content to life. Ensure content is SCORM and/or xAPI-compliant and fully accessible. Deploy and manage courses through LMS platforms such as Cornerstone, Workday Learning. Collect and analyze learning data to iterate and improve user experience and instructional effectiveness. Mentor junior instructional designers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human-Centered Design, or a related field (Master's preferred). Minimum 7+ years of instructional design experience with a strong emphasis on e-learning, UX design, and multimedia animation. Demonstrated expertise in tools including:
Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate Synthesia, Camtasia Figma, Adobe XD, InVision Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition)
Experience designing responsive and mobile-friendly learning content. Familiarity with instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, PROSCI). Working knowledge of LMS administration and SCORM/xAPI standards. Excellent writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills. Strong time management and project coordination skills in an Agile or iterative development environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience integrating AI-powered tools into learning workflows. Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design best practices. Experience using data to evaluate and optimize learning experiences.
