About the Opportunity:
A well-established international freight forwarder is seeking an experienced
Entry Writer
to join its growing Customs Brokerage team in New Jersey. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and file customs entries for import shipments in compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) regulations. Classify merchandise using HTS codes; verify valuation, country of origin, and duty calculations. Communicate with importers, carriers, and agencies to resolve holds, exams, or documentation issues. Maintain complete and compliant entry documentation and audit records. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure on-time shipment release and delivery. Qualifications: 1–3+ years of customs entry writing or import operations experience within a
freight forwarding
or
customs brokerage
environment. Working knowledge of
CBP regulations ,
HTS classification , and
PGA filings
(FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.). Experience using systems such as
CargoWise ,
AS400 , or similar. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and written/verbal communication. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or pursuing the license is a plus.
