POSITION GOALS: • The Librarian - Extended Services will report directly to the Director of Library Services and will provide library services for the Camden campus in support of recruitment, retention, realization and academic success and serve as a liaison to the Blackwood Campus Library. • The Librarian - Extended Services will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide library reference assistance and research support for students, faculty and staff. • Contribute to library marketing and outreach efforts including library displays and special events. • Plan, implement, promote, monitor and assess library services delivered at the Student Learning Center, Camden City Campus including reference, circulation, library instruction, and interlibrary loan. • Represent library in staff meetings and activities at the Camden Campus. • Promote library services to faculty, staff and students at the Camden Campus. • Develop content as needed for online library guides and resources. • Monitor computer and printing needs in the SLC and report problems to OIT. • Serve as a liaison to OIT staff and Tutoring. • Assist students with academic support needs beyond research, including writing support (brainstorming, organization, citations, grammar guidance) and providing basic tutoring in introductory STEM subjects. • Assist with delivery of information literacy and academic skills workshops (e.g., citation management, research strategies, study skills, AI literacy, and responsible technology use) for students in one-on-one and group settings. • Collaborate with tutoring and eLearning staff to ensure students receive coordinated academic support services across library, writing, and tutoring functions. • Support students in the use of digital learning platforms and online resources, including the College's learning management system (Canvas), academic applications (Respondus, CopyLeaks) online course eBooks and materials, library databases, and other academic technologies. • Track, assess, and report student usage and outcomes related to research support, tutoring, and writing assistance to help evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. • Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations. • Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications • Master's Degree in Library or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited school required. • One-year library experience, preferably in an academic library. • STEM background preferred. • Ability to accurately communicate classroom or curricula topics and assignments to students including homework, projects, papers, and course assignments. • Experience using an integrated library system to facilitate checking in and out of library items. • Experience with online databases, online library catalog, e-books and Internet resources. • Experience using an online chat interface to facilitate reference question interviews. • Up-to-date in the use of emerging library information technologies. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to service. • Ability to quickly adapt to changing institutional needs and work environments. • Ability to travel between, and to work at any of the College campuses. • Proficiency with common workplace computing applications
