Position Summary
The Communications Adjunct will develop/adapt the standard syllabus, content, and activities in conjunction with current COMM instructors under the direction of the the Liberal Arts Program Coordinator and be available to teach on-campus COMM courses at the Headquarters or Tech Center campus as needed based on enrollment.
There is an immediate need for the Fall 2025 semester for the adjunct to teach 2 in-person sections of COMM 202:
one every Wednesday from 9:20-10:30 am at the Headquarters campus and one every Thursday from 8:00-10:30 am
at the Tech Center campus beginning Monday, August 18 and ending December 15. Duties and Responsibilities
The adjunct will develop/adapt the standard syllabus, content, and activities in conjunction with current COMM instructors under the direction of the the Liberal Arts Program Coordinator. The COMM adjunct will teach face-to-face daytime and/or evening COMM courses at the BRCTC Headquarters and/or Tech Center campus as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Education Candidate must have completed a Master's Degree in COMM or 18 master's level (or above) credits in COMM coursework.
Experience Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience teaching at the high school or college level and be comfortable utilizing course-related and LMS technology. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching professional communication or a similar course at the high school or college level and using an online learning management system (preferably Blackboard or Blackboard Ultra).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Candidate must be able to teach the concepts in COMM by establishing a sense of community with students, inspiring students to develop their professional communication skills, responding to student requests for assistance in a timely manner (typically within 24 hours), and successfully navigating the online platform that complements the classroom experience.
This is a continuous job posting to establish a qualified pool of adjuncts on an as needed basis semester to semester.
Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.
