Job Description Summary
Teaching a variety of courses in Music including: Music Appreciation and Introduction to Jazz classes. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in the classroom.
Duties
1. Teach Music Appreciation and/or Introduction to Jazz in a variety of times/formats (day, evening, hybrid, High School sections) at Madison, South and Asheville campuses; 2. Supervise students in the classroom classes; 3. Develop class syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/class taught; 4. Prepare and deliver lectures; 5. Abide by all policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College, the Arts & Sciences Division, and the Department; 6. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality; 7. Maintain accurate student records, gradebook in Moodle and attendance in Web Advisor; 8. Maintain good communication with department chairperson, instructors, peers and students. 9. Ability to work as a team. 10. Utilize Moodle software platform.
Minimum Requirements
1. Master's degree in Music or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Music.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Successful teaching experience: Community college teaching experience preferred. 3. Performance experience.
