Description

The Department of Music at Hofstra University seeks a dynamic and experienced instructor or professor to teach two sections of Music Publishing in the Music Industry (MUSB 100).

In this course, the professor must provide a comprehensive overview of the business and creative elements of Music Publishing in the Music Industry. The candidate will teach about traditional and emerging deals and revenue streams available to songwriters, artists, and content owners, and discuss various ways to optimize them. This includes practical strategies and approaches to song rights administration and valuation. By the end of this course, students will be equipped with essential knowledge to develop and pursue a career in music publishing, as well as to serve as the publisher of their expanding song catalog.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree required And/or equivalent professional experience working in the music industry, music publishing, and expertise in music copyright. Preferred Quals Summary

Salary/Salary Range $1,458-$1,585 per credit hour

Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
