Description

The Athletics Marketing and Promotions Graduate Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the overall marketing, promotional, and fan engagement efforts for the University of Central Missouri Athletics Department. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collegiate athletics marketing while pursuing a graduate degree. The successful candidate will assist in the formation and execution of marketing plans, game day promotions, and community outreach initiatives, while also helping to grow attendance and enhance fan experience at athletic events.

Examples of Duties

Duties Include:

Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and promotional plans for all 8 varsity sports with regular home events. Coordinate and implement game day promotions and fan engagement activities at all home athletic events. Collaborate with student groups, university departments, and local businesses to increase attendance and enhance the game day atmosphere. - Assist with managing student marketing teams and interns. Oversee in-game scripts, promotional timelines, and on-field/arena activations. Assist with graphic design, social media content, and digital marketing efforts as needed. Coordinate and support community outreach events and youth engagement initiatives. Maintain and track promotional inventory, signage, giveaways, and sponsorship activations. Provide support for special events such as Homecoming, Senior Nights, and themed games. Other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Required, Marketing Major preferred Currently admitted to a UCM graduate degree program 3.0 or higher graduate level GPA if previous graduate level courses have been taken 2.7 or higher undergraduate level GPA if no previous graduate level courses have been taken

Experience:

Prior experience in athletics marketing, promotions, or event planning (collegiate or professional level preferred). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to work evenings and weekends in accordance with athletic event schedules. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is a plus. Knowledge of social media marketing and engagement strategies. Supplemental Information GA Type:

Students filling a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position are eligible to receive a graduate tuition waiver, a graduate non-resident tuition waiver (if applicable), and a graduate mandatory fees waiver. The scholarships are in the form of a waiver and the funds are not deposited into the student's personal account. Instead, the student's bill is reduced by the amount of the scholarship awarded. If the maximum amount of the scholarship is not used, the remainder is not paid to the student in any form and unused scholarship money cannot be carried over to another semester. The scholarship is applied to graduate level courses only; courses taken for undergraduate credit are not eligible to be covered by the GA scholarship. The non-resident fee scholarship only applies to classes taken on the UCM Warrensburg campus. The maximum scholarship amounts are based on the size of assistantship held. For a full (20-hour per week) assistantship, the scholarship covers tuition costs and mandatory fees up to 12 credit hours of graduate coursework per semester. Graduate assistantship positions less than full will be prorated accordingly. Special Instructions:
