Position Information Title: Videographer

Position Summary This position is responsible for creating compelling visual stories across multiple platforms, using videography and photography to inform, engage, and entertain audiences and support the college’s marketing and communication goals. This individual should be a flexible, positive, creative person who enjoys the storytelling process and takes pride in delivering high‑quality video. The Videographer/Photographer will be expected to complete projects as assigned, generate story ideas, and seek out original content. Projects will range in scope and complexity to support the college’s strategic goals and include student recruitment, faculty features and research, academic and non‑academic programs for students, fundraising, alumni relations, and more. The Videographer/Photographer reports to the Assistant Director of Video and Photography in the Office of Marketing and Communications for the Terry College of Business. As a member of the OMC team, this individual will work collaboratively with the visual, creative and editorial teams to develop, execute, and edit visual stories for use across platforms, including web, social media, digital, and print publications. This person is expected to coordinate, scout, and schedule video shoots; interview subjects; edit videos and photos for appropriate use; organize, archive, and distribute digital files from shoots to appropriate parties. Additionally, this position is partially responsible for the management of the video and photo assets for the college through a digital asset management tool (such as Photoshelter).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Demonstrated high degree of video production and post‑production skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Photo Mechanic. Experience using After Effects.
Experience working with Canon mirrorless cameras, professional audio and lighting equipment.
Experience with project management systems, Asana preferred.
Working knowledge of social media and experience producing content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
Professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills. Experience interviewing/interacting with senior‑level executives and front‑line personnel.
Time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently, prioritizing work assignments to meet department and client deadlines.
Ability to transport and set up video/photography equipment (up to 40 lbs.).
Experience working successfully within a creative team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities I. Plan, Produce and Edit Videos
Both independently and collaboratively, plan shoots, select and coach talent, write scripts, interview subjects, and execute all aspects of production, including setup, filming, sound, lighting, and motion graphics.
Terry College has an ongoing need for digital stories and a library of fresh b‑roll.
Work closely with the creative team on copy and graphics, and will leverage OMC staff and student staff to assist with logistics, talent releases, etc.
Direct external resources when necessary.
Limited travel is required.
Percentage of time: 70%
II. Plan, Shoot and Edit Photography
To include collaboration on creative concepts, location scouting and selection, talent selection and coaching, and all aspects of production including visual setup, photographing, and lighting.
The college is an active environment with many specific photo needs tied to special events, story assignments, and demand for a library of stock images.
Direct external resources when necessary.
Limited travel is required.
Percentage of time: 15%
III. Digital Asset Management (DAM)
Establish, implement, and train necessary OMC staff on the use of a highly functional DAM tool used as a searchable archive database of photos and videos to be used in ongoing/future marketing and communications efforts for the college.
This includes a clearly defined and documented tagging system aligned with search terms established with the OMC creative team to support its needs.
Touch up and make edits to video and photos as needed.
Research and select appropriate photos and video assets as requested.
Percentage of time: 15%
