MANAGER, LEARNING AND CONTENT DESIGN
AT A GLANCE:
Broad River Retail is seeking a Manager, Learning & Content Design, to join our growing People Team. This highly motivated, dynamic, and creative Leader will lead our instructional design initiatives to develop engaging and effective learning experiences for our Memory Makers (Employees) across the Enterprise. This role will be responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with our organizational goals while enhancing Memory Maker performance and development.
This Memory Maker will serve as a content and instructional design expert, own the structure and accuracy of our learning content within our Learning Management System, and design meaningful learning materials that help our Memory Makers to furnish life's best memories. This role works closely with partners across the People Team and Enterprise to bring learning to life in ways that are engaging, practical, and aligned with our Company's continued growth.
A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER: Instructional Design and Curriculum Development:
Design, develop, and implement engaging learning experiences and training programs, including facilitator led sessions, blended learning, and learner resources that support capability building across the Enterprise. Content Creation:
Create high quality learning materials including toolkits, job aids, training decks, microlearning content, and resources that support both e-learning and in person programs. LMS Administration:
Build and own the development and maintenance of learning content in the LMS within our HRIS, ensuring content accuracy, intuitive navigation, organized learning pathways, and seamless learning experience for all Memory Makers. Collaboration:
Partner with subject matter experts, People Team partners, and leaders across the business to gather insights, understand learning needs, and ensure that content and experiences support business outcomes. Program Assessment and Evaluation:
Evaluate learning effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and performance indicators and recommend improvements to enhance learning impact. Enterprise Learning Support:
Partner with departments across the Enterprise to create learning resources that support leadership development, role specific capabilities, and Memory Maker experience initiatives. Learning Strategy Alignment:
Collaborate with our People Leaders to ensure learning content, development efforts, and learning experiences align with talent priorities and organizational goals, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in learning solutions. Facilitation and Delivery:
Facilitate selected in person and virtual training sessions, as needed, and support leaders and subject matter experts with facilitation guidance, resources, and best practices. Project Management and Learning Technologies:
Lead instructional design projects from conception to completion while staying current on learning technologies and recommending tools that enhance the delivery of training programs. MEMORY MAKER PERKS AND BENEFITS:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. 3-5 years of relevant experience in Instructional Design, Content Development, or Learning and Development with at least 2 years in a leadership position. Experience designing content for both e-learning and instructor-led programs. Experience managing and maintaining learning content within an LMS or HRIS environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Ability to design and develop learning experiences using instructional best practices and adult learning principles. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple and clear learning content. High level of creativity, problem solving, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, partners, and subject matter experts across the Enterprise. Commitment to creating a positive learning experience for all Memory Makers. Ability to flex communication styles to meet the needs of varying audiences and learners. Ability to perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management Proficiency in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theories. Strong technical skills with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Excellent project management abilities with a proven track record of delivering high-quality learning experiences on time. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness. WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:
Physical requirements such as repetitive bending, lifting, and squatting. Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking Able to drive to travel to company locations as necessary Be able to routinely lift 15 lbs. alone, or team lift heavier pieces Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and/or electronically Monday through Friday work schedule Will report to Fort Mill, SC corporate office on a hybrid work schedule
