Part-Time Email Marketing Specialist | Contract | Remote (U.S.) — Bonus if located in Columbus, OH
We’re a fast-growing Columbus-based social-media-first creative agency working with lifestyle, CPG, hospitality, wellness, food, fashion, podcasts, and experiential brands. We build storytelling-driven content, signature series, campaign concepts, and scroll-stopping shoots that make brands unforgettable online.
Creative Ave is looking for a
Part-Time Email Marketing Specialist
to support the strategy, buildout, automation, and performance of email campaigns for both Creative Ave and select client accounts. This role works closely with our strategy, creative, and social teams to turn brand storytelling into high-converting email touchpoints that nurture audiences, drive engagement, and support launches, campaigns, and retention.
This person should be:

✅ fluent in brand voice adaptation
✅ confident working across multiple industries
Industries may include:
CPG + food
wellness + supplements
hospitality + experiential brands
fashion + lifestyle
podcasts + media
e-commerce + product brands
Key Responsibilities Email Strategy + Planning
Support development of email calendars for Creative Ave and client brands
Assist in segmenting audiences and defining send cadence
Create nurture flows, campaign flows, and announcement sequences
Align email storylines with social campaigns + launches
Email Buildout + Execution
Write email copy aligned to tone, audience, and objectives
Build emails inside platforms (Klaviyo, Flodesk, & Shopify preferred)
Select layout, visuals, and CTA placement based on best practices
Assist with list imports, tagging, segmentation, and cleanup
Optimization + Reporting
Track open rates, CTR, conversions, and unsubscribe reports
Identify insights and recommend improvements
A/B test subject lines, CTAs, design layouts, and timing
Provide monthly summaries for internal team + clients
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work with:
Ali — messaging tone + brand alignment
Marketing Team — funnel logic + strategic initiatives
Sam — fulfillment timelines + coordination
Creative Team — asset sourcing + storytelling cohesion
What Success Looks Like
✅ emails sent on time and error-free
✅ improved open + click performance over time
✅ consistent voice that matches each brand
✅ smooth alignment with social + campaign direction
✅ increased audience engagement and retention
✅ organized, reliable handoff + documentation
Ideal Skills + Experience
2–3 years email marketing experience (agency or brand side)
Strong writing skills — especially punchy, concise, story-led copy
Understanding of segmentation, flows, and automation basics
Familiar with platforms such as:
Klaviyo
Mailchimp
Flodesk
ConvertKit
HubSpot (bonus)
Experience with e-commerce or DTC a plus
Comfort working across multiple clients + deadlines
Bonus Skills (not required but valuable)
✨ SMS marketing
✨ basic Canva layout tweaks
✨ knowledge of deliverability best practices
✨ experience with lead magnets + nurture funnels
✨ reporting dashboards
Hours + Structure
Part-time: 10–20 hours/week to start
Flexible schedule, with availability for:
weekly async updates
occasional team calls
Potential to scale into:
Email Manager
Full-time role
Compensation
Dependent on experience, but structured as:
hourly rate
monthly retainer for consistent deliverables
