The role applies the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process and produces engaging digital learning materials, simulations, and interactive courseware. The developer integrates graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements into multiple delivery platforms to meet program standards and client requirements.

Summary
The Multimedia Developer designs, develops, and implements interactive training programs and courseware in support of aviation training requirements. This role applies the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process and produces engaging digital learning materials, simulations, and interactive courseware. The developer integrates graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements into multiple delivery platforms to meet program standards and client requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with assigned experts to develop ISD products, reviewing and researching government‑furnished materials (GFMs), interviewing subject‑matter experts, and locating and extracting information to ensure training meets ISD and technical requirements.
- Assist in the development of multiple levels of training tasks and products against training requirements in accordance with instructional design processes.
- Develop training materials in a variety of media, following established guidelines for delivery in settings such as classroom, computer‑based training (CBT), Aircrew Training Device (ATD), Part Task Trainer (PTT), and video.
- Design, produce, and integrate 2D/3D graphics, animations, audio, and video assets for interactive applications.
- Implement interactivity and simulations using industry‑standard technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, Unity/Unreal, and SCORM/xAPI‑compliant tools.
- Use established standards for format and style, procedures for design and development of courseware documents, and training materials.
- Employ industry‑standard software and formats technical documents to a specific standard; import supporting graphic content and prepare for distribution in the classroom.
- Review and edit training materials for proper grammar and visual appearance.
- Prioritize efforts proactively to meet course milestones.
- Conduct peer reviews to verify production in accordance with established quality standards.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design/Development, Instructional Technology, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience developing interactive multimedia training or eLearning content preferred.
- Experience with aviation or defense‑related training programs is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks/libraries (e.g., CreateJS, React, Angular).
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or comparable tools for interactive simulation development.
- Proficiency in the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with basic web development/layout.
- Proficiency with multimedia authoring and design tools (Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Experience with SCORM and/or xAPI standards and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Familiarity with Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
- Understanding of military protocols and customs is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Desired Skills
- Experience with UI/UX design principles.
- Basic digital audio and video editing.
- 3D modeling/animation using 3ds Max, Blender, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with instructional video scripting and production.
Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints; generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
- Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret complex customer requirements and communication.
Security Responsibilities
- Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
- Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials.
- Shall not divulge any information to unauthorized employees; shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval.
- All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
- Regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone and fax.
- Will at times be exposed to extreme heat, airborne particles and loud noises.
Physical Demands
- Domestic and international travel as required.
- Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl on top of or under machinery.
- Must be able to detect odors or hear noises or other signals to detect problems in simulators and their surrounding environment.
