Trend Social’s Social Strategy team connects cultural insight, platform expertise, and performance-driven creative. The Social Media Strategy Associate plays a key role in shaping how brands show up online, driving relevance, engagement, and measurable impact across all platforms.
OVERVIEW
The Social Media Strategy Associate is responsible for translating brand objectives into high-performing social content strategies. This role builds and maintains Trend Social’s editorial frameworks, trend forecasting capabilities, and evergreen content systems. They collaborate closely with Influencer, UGC, Paid Media, and Community Management teams to ensure all content ladders up to a cohesive full-funnel strategy. This position blends creative thinking, cultural fluency, design execution, and analytical rigor to deliver content that moves audiences and business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Content Strategy + Editorial Development Develops and maintains content pillars, themes, and platform-specific tone-of-voice guidelines for assigned brands. Builds monthly trend-specific content forecasts, identifying emerging formats, sounds, aesthetic shifts, and cultural moments relevant to each client’s category. Develops quarterly content roadmaps that align with brand objectives, launches, seasonal moments, and full-funnel goals. Builds and maintains an evergreen, always-on content calendar, balancing brand storytelling with timely trend-driven opportunities. Partners with Creative, UGC, and Influencer teams to align messaging and storytelling across all content outputs. Creative Execution Owns social media graphic design for static, carousel, and lightweight asset creation (internal and client-facing). Provides creative direction for motion/video concepts and delegates video editing/creation to the Social Coordinator, ensuring each piece aligns with platform best practices. Maintains visual consistency across platforms through templates, brand kits, and repeatable design systems. Collaborates with UGC Creators and influencers to ensure content integrates seamlessly into the brand’s overall visual + voice identity. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partners closely with the Paid Media team to align organic content with paid amplification strategies—including creative variants, test-and-learn formats, and performance insights. Works hand-in-hand with the UGC team to merge brand storytelling with authentic creator-style content. Supports the Influencer team with briefing, messaging sets, and ensuring influencer content ladders into the brand’s editorial themes. Aligns monthly reporting with Paid + Analytics to optimize future content based on performance. Community Management Strategy Develops community management frameworks, including escalation protocols, response guidelines, social tone parameters, and proactive engagement strategies. Partners with Community Managers to identify opportunities for brand voice development, social listening insights, and audience-building moments. Supports social listening initiatives to surface category shifts, competitor activity, and emerging consumer conversations. Uses sentiment insights to influence content direction and timing. Project Leadership + Internal Collaboration Owns the day-to-day workflow for social content planning and approvals for assigned accounts. Manages timelines, routing, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. Participates in brainstorms and creative workshops to elevate the social strategy team’s POV and Trend Social’s larger integrated offering. Contributes to Trend Social IP development, including trend reports, templates, POVs, and competitive audit QUALIFICATIONS 2–4 years of hands-on social media experience, ideally within an agency or fast-growing brand. Strong understanding of platform best practices across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube. Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design tools. Strong writing skills and an ability to translate brand identity into social-friendly tone of voice. Experience analyzing social analytics and applying insights to strategy. Demonstrated ability to stay ahead of platform trends and cultural shifts. Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, managing multiple deadlines, and working cross-functionally.
