Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician 3 is responsible for gathering information from medical records and other sources to process prior authorization requests, analyzing required data, recommending to pharmacist, communicating requests, and maintaining a database to document workload and impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Works under direct supervision of a pharmacist while performing duties of a pharmacy technician (75%)

Supports clinical pharmacist in the clinic (10%)

Completes documentation on all requests (10%)

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

California Licensed Pharmacy Technician

Recent experience processing third party billing

Experience in performing pharmacy calculations

Demonstrated knowledge of generic and trade drug names and pharmacy terminology

Experience in using pharmacy information systems and looking up patient data on hospital information systems

Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written)

Preferred Qualifications

Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)

Recent outpatient pharmacy experience

PBM pharmacy technician experiencePrior Authorization / Patient Assistance Program experience

Knowledge of hospital, department, and university policies and procedures

Familiarity with hospital, HBC, PCN layout and patient care areas

Experience following established protocol and keeping accurate records with attention to detail

Salary: $35.69 - $44.44 per hour
