Who are we looking for?

Within this role, the candidate will be a senior finance voice within the North American business. You will be the primary point of contact for our North America relationships and their direct reports who manage Sales, Publishing, and Marketing. This role reports into the SVP Finance & Accounting, who is based in London and oversees all operational finance.

This is a hybrid role that will require you to commute to our New York office a minimum of three days a week.

The Role

  • Manage and perform all North American accounting functions, including transactions posting, customer billing, A/R, A/P, GL postings, cost accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet, P&L, and all intercompany recharges
  • Produce monthly financial statements, perform variance analysis, and provide commentaries
  • Oversee tax functions for the US and Canada, liaising with our external tax accountants and ensuring all necessary tax filings are completed in time
  • Production of year-end audit files for both US and Canada Companies and support the head office and parent company with the statutory audit
  • Ensure compliance and support the Group with federal, state, and local legal requirements; filing financial reports
  • Maintain internal control processes and ensure the system and processes are efficiently operating and utilized within the company
  • Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and tax authorities
  • Assist monthly account reviews for the US and Canada, to ensure management accounts and reporting supports the overall reporting vision
  • Support group HR team with monthly payroll processing when needed
  • Provide ad hoc operational support for the office and HR

Other Areas

  • Administration on supporting Group for submitting WHT claims on foreign sales
  • Liase closely with the Sales team, supporting customer onboarding
  • Be the main contact for local Sales team to address sales finance operational queries
  • Support the head office on FP&A tasks relating to budgeting and reporting

Your Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience using SAP Business One and Salesforce would be beneficial
  • Has been a part of a high-growth business
  • CPA preferred but not essential

Compensation Package

  • Salary range: $100,000 – $105,000 USD
