JOB SUMMARY: Ladue School District is seeking an innovative and student-centered School Library Media Specialist who will partner with educators to strengthen instruction and support student learning across the school community. In this role, you will curate a diverse and inclusive collection that fosters a lifelong love of reading while actively partnering with classroom teachers to integrate essential information literacy and research skills into the curriculum. We seek a technology-proficient educator who can transform the media center into a dynamic hub for creativity and critical thinking, ensuring that all students have equitable access to the resources.
MINIMAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaches and implements the approved library curriculum. Operates and supervises the media center, inviting staff and students to utilize the space in a variety of ways. Collaborate with teachers to integrate library media and research skills into the curriculum, aligning with learning objectives and content standards. Work collaboratively with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning, and the integration of information and technology resources. Serve as a resource person for teachers, providing expertise on information literacy, technology integration, and available resources. Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to promote literacy and technology integration. Evaluates, selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff to assist in the selection of books and other instructional materials; keeps students and teaching staff informed regarding new acquisitions for use in the media center. Serves as a ready resource to students to provide research assistance. EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree or higher required. Missouri Teacher Certification in Library Media Specialist required. Successful teaching in a Middle School setting preferred.
COMPENSATION: Salary will be determined based on verified education and years of experience. Salary for this position is in accordance with the 2026-27 Teacher Salary Schedule. This is a full-time contracted teaching position with benefits.
