Nature of Work
This position provides marketing and technology assistance for adult public programming by the Library. The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Library Program Coordinator. The person works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with designing marketing materials such as program flyers, calendars, and other promotional materials. Assists with content design for social media channels. Assist with program development.
  • Performs the room set-up and take-down for adult programs and some outside organization meeting room reservations.
  • Assists meeting room speakers/users with the use of audio-visual equipment and other technical requirements.
  • May require public speaking at library programs or library-sponsored events.
  • Performs clerical duties such as compiling and maintaining all files relating to library programs for adults, and other projects as assigned.
  • Performs library functions such as Circulation duties when so assigned.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned and appropriate to the class.
  • Greets patrons and follows good customer service practices at all time.
  • Exercises good customer service telephone etiquette by answering general library questions for patrons on the phone and directing callers to the appropriate extension.
  • Practices patron confidentiality in all transactions with the public.
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires at least six (6) months of work experience in customer service in a professional setting.
  • Requires strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Meta Business Suite experience preferred. Video editing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Canva, Facebook, Instagram, and video technology.
  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills. Requires strong customer service skills.
  • Performs clerical and manual tasks prescribed by standard practices but which may require attention to detail, computation, the use of several procedures, and the use of independent judgment with obvious choices; requires normal attention for accurate results. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
  • Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.

Dental Insurance: Dental Insurance is effective after 90 days of employment. Employees may elect a PPO or HMO plan. Provider is Mutual of Omaha.

Vision Insurance: Vision Insurance is effective after 90 days of employment. Provider is Mutual of Omaha.

Bereavement Leave: 24 hours of leave with pay.

Holidays: 11 paid holidays.
