Cinder co is hiring: Founding Product Marketer in New York
Cinder co, New York, NY, United States, 10261
About Cinder
Cinder provides a cutting-edge platform to protect the internet. Cinder safeguards the interaction layer: the front end of products that users engage — and sometimes abuse. Our AI agents, integrated workflow platform, and deep expertise power real-time integrity at the speed of innovation.
We support some of the most important and innovative companies in the world, including OpenAI, Midjourney, and ElevenLabs. Cinder is backed by Accel and Y Combinator.
We care deeply about being relentless, intentional, and empathetic. We hire gritty thinkers who set ego aside, aggressively solve customer problems, and get better every day. We’re building an enterprise-grade platform to make the internet safer and we need highly curious, hard-working self-starters.
The Role
Cinder is hiring our first full-time marketer - someone who’s excited to build from scratch, move quickly, and help define how a category-creating product is understood in the world.
This is a deeply hands‑on role. You’ll be the person who translates complex, technical AI‑driven capabilities into stories people instantly “get.” You’ll bring clarity to a space that’s advancing quickly, and you’ll shape how customers, prospects, and the broader market understand Cinder’s platform and the problems we solve.
As our Founding Marketer, you’ll move between strategy and execution every day. As our brand expands, you’ll help position us in a rapidly evolving market by translating customer perspective, user insights, and practical context into clear, compelling storytelling across channels, teams, and audiences. You will manage the creation of content that helps people understand what Cinder does and why it matters, enabling our GTM teams with strong materials, and helping establish how we show up publicly. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and the founders.
This role is ideal for someone who has had significant ownership in an early‑stage startup and feels energized by the ambiguity and pace of building something new. Bottom line: there will be no better opportunity to define how integrity is integrated in modern enterprise to drive innovation.
This position is based in New York City.
What You’ll Do
Product Marketing
- Translate customer problems into simple, compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Partner closely with the Founders to support go‑to‑market strategy for new features, capabilities, and product iterations.
- Build competitive and market insights that help us sharpen our story and stay ahead of the category.
Content, Storytelling & GTM Enablement
- Shape an editorial voice that feels human, accessible, and grounded in real customer insight.
- Create high‑quality content that helps customers, prospects, and the broader market understand what Cinder does and why it matters. This includes blog posts, launch narratives, technical explainers, and customer stories.
- Build materials that help Sales and Customer Success communicate Cinder’s value clearly, including decks, one‑pagers, messaging guides, and product overviews.
- Partner with GTM teams to test messaging, identify where clarity is needed, and iterate quickly based on feedback from the field.
Brand & Early Stage Ownership
- Partner with founders to evolve Cinder’s brand identity across all channels and ensure that it reflects our product, values, and customers.
- Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for our external brand and website redesign partner. Help shape creative direction, provide thoughtful feedback, and keep the work aligned with our narrative.
- Establish lightweight processes for launches, messaging tests, and gathering customer insights. Keep everything practical and easy to use.
- Ensure that events, whether bespoke industry dinners or large conferences, reinforce our brand and help us show up well in front of customers and partners.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You…
- Have at least five years of experience in marketing with meaningful ownership in an early‑stage or fast‑moving environment.
- Have been a team of one or part of a small, scrappy team where you drove projects from idea to execution.
- Are an excellent writer who enjoys creating accessible, high‑quality content that explains complex concepts simply.
- Understand how AI models, agents, and modern tooling work, and stay up to date on the state of the field.
- Bring strong communication and relationship‑building skills across customers, executives, and internal teams.
- Thrive in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments where you set strategy and execute hands‑on.
- Are analytical and outcomes‑oriented. You are comfortable owning metrics that influence pipeline, product adoption, and customer understanding.
- Use AI marketing tools in your day‑to‑day work and see them as essential to speed and quality.
- Have strong project‑management instincts and can manage complex launches, content pipelines, and cross‑functional work with clarity.
- Bring demonstrated product marketing skills, including positioning, messaging, persona development, competitive analysis, and launch planning.
- Can move across multiple types of marketing work without losing quality or momentum, particularly content, storytelling, brand expression, and sales enablement materials.
- Know how to prioritize in environments with competing demands and evolving goals.
- Have a track record of shipping high‑quality work across several channels at once while balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
It’s a Plus If You…
- Have experience in Trust & Safety, Risk, Integrity, or AI‑driven operations.
