Audio-Visual Installation Technician Job at GovCIO in Fayetteville

Overview

GovCIO is excited to expand our team by hiring an Audio-Visual Installation Technician. This role is perfect for candidates looking to grow in a collaborative environment. We value team members with a positive attitude who are eager to learn and adapt. As a technician, you will be responsible for integrating, installing, and configuring various audio-visual components. Your work will include installation services, technical support, and adapting different video display systems. You will also support hardware/software installations, infrastructure upgrades, and IT operations maintenance across multiple global classified networks. This position will be based in Fayetteville, NC, and is strictly onsite.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical advice on installing and configuring electrical products.
• Test, troubleshoot, and ensure electrical systems meet specifications.
• Cut and prepare wiring, ensuring all connections are properly insulated.
• Interact with complex electrical systems and installations.
• Conduct hardware infrastructure surveys and assist with planning and design.
• Make recommendations regarding hardware and cabling needs.
• Plan, build, and install cable patch panels and other necessary infrastructures.
• Install and terminate various types of IT cable and fiber.
• Manage equipment rack installations and overall equipment setups.

Qualifications

A high school diploma with 0-3 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Experience

• Availability for CONUS & OCONUS travel up to 35% of the time.
• Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS certification within 180 days of hiring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Capability to work both independently and in teams within a fast-paced environment.
• Valid and current U.S. Driver's License and U.S. passport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Willingness to work in challenging environments while OCONUS.
• No clearance required to start, but must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with IT devices, including servers and video display systems.
• Familiarity with basic PC functions, including software updates and hardware changes.
• Hands-on experience with various Audio-Visual equipment and cabling.
• BICSI Infrastructure, Copper, and Fiber Certifications.
• Knowledge of Uninterruptable Power Supplies and AV over IP systems.
• Understanding of Dante AVB system configuration.
• Experience with Crestron and Extron system components/software.

Posted Salary Range

The anticipated salary range for this position is USD $40,690.00 - USD $50,000.00 per year.
