Precertification/Authorization Specialist

Location : Charleston, SC
Pay : $60,840.00 – $68,515.00 per year
Employment Type : Full‑time – Regular Employee
Verify patient eligibility, obtain insurance benefits, and ensure pre‑certification, authorization, and referral requirements are met prior to delivery of inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services.
Determine which patient services have third‑party payer requirements and obtain necessary authorizations for care via phone, fax, or payer websites.
Provide detailed and timely communication to payers and clinical partners to facilitate compliance with payer contractual requirements and document appropriate information in the patient’s record.
Education : High School Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience : 1 year
