Maxima
About us
Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, purpose-built to deliver SOX-compliant, real-time close. Our founders have experience on both sides of the problem: from overseeing the finance organization at Rubrik to building month-end close systems at Twitter and Netflix. We have raised the largest seed and series A financing in accounting software history from Kleiner Perkins and Audacious Ventures, and we are backed by finance leaders at Rippling, OpenAI, and UiPath. Your role
The marketing team at Maxima is in search of a field and events marketing manager who is data-driven, highly organized, and experienced in managing in-person and virtual events for enterprise B2B audiences. The ideal candidate thrives in a startup environment where curiosity and creativity fuel ambition through bold, high-impact programs. This role focuses on bringing the Maxima brand to life through in-person events, webinars, conferences, and field programs that support sales and reinforce our thought leadership. Unlike at a large tech company, this role comes with meaningful ownership and visibility. You will directly engage with CFOs, controllers, and accounting leaders, participate in C-suite interviews, and help shape how Maxima shows up in high-stakes environments. What you will do
Own Maxima’s event strategy
Determine the right mix of events across executive dinners, regional meetups, roadshows, conferences, and webinars.
Decide which third-party events, sponsorships, or field activations we should invest in based on goals and target accounts.
Define the audience, format, location, and purpose of each event.
Build and maintain the events calendar to ensure programs support sales priorities.
Plan and run in-person events
Execute executive dinners, regional gatherings, partner events, customer meetups, and roadshows.
Manage all logistics including venues, catering, vendors, contracts, budgets, timelines, and onsite coordination.
Ensure events are well-organized, on brand, and tailored to finance and accounting leaders.
Represent Maxima onsite and serve as a key customer-facing presence.
Manage webinars and virtual events
Plan and produce webinars, virtual briefings, and educational sessions.
Coordinate speakers, dry runs, registration, reminders, and post-event materials.
Deliver smooth, polished virtual experiences.
Support conferences and sponsorships
Select conferences and third-party events based on fit and expected impact.
Manage sponsorship deliverables, booth setup, creative assets, and onsite presence.
Ensure Maxima shows up with a strong and consistent brand experience.
Partner closely with sales
Coordinate pre-event and post-event outreach with sales and SDRs.
Share attendee lists, follow-up recommendations, and post-event insights.
Help prepare sales teams for onsite conversations and engagement.
Track performance and gather insights
Track attendance, engagement levels, follow-through, and lead quality.
Analyze event performance by capturing both quantitative and qualitative insights including logistics feedback, pipeline impact, attendee reactions, and competitive observations.
Document learnings to inform future planning and improve event effectiveness.
Support event creative needs
Work with creative and product marketing to develop event collateral, signage, and promotional materials.
Manage swag, gifting, and physical event items.
Maintain consistency across all event materials and brand touchpoints.
Operational excellence
Build processes, checklists, and templates for repeatable execution.
Maintain detailed documentation across logistics, vendors, budgets, run-of-show plans, and post-event reporting.
Ensure all events are delivered on time and within budget.
This role is a great fit if you
Have 2 or more years of field marketing, event marketing, or relevant experience at B2B startups.
Possess hands-on experience building marketing events from scratch.
Have exceptional organizational and project management skills and can juggle multiple events simultaneously.
Want to grow quickly and take on responsibilities that would take years to earn in a large tech company.
Are excited to travel for events and onsite activations.
This role is not the right fit if you
Are uncomfortable with ambiguity. We have strong traction, but we are still early and constantly learning as we grow.
Want clearly defined processes and established playbooks.
Prefer remote work. This role is based in San Mateo, and we work together in the office four days a week.
