Under the direct supervision of DNI’s Marketing Director, the Web Designer supports DNI’s growing Marketing & Communications team by designing, maintaining, and enhancing DNI’s web presence through visually compelling, user-friendly, and brand-aligned digital experiences. The ideal candidate has strong WordPress experience, an eye for design, and the ability to translate creative concepts into functional web solutions that support organizational goals.
Daily duties
Design and maintain company website/s using WordPress.
Create responsive, mobile-friendly page layouts that reflect modern UI/UX standards.
Assisting in the coordination and ongoing upkeep of internal files in SharePoint.
Manage site updates, content uploads, visual refreshes, and technical adjustments.
Promote and support a culture that reflects the organization’s SHINES values.
Periodic duties
Translate brand guidelines into cohesive, high-quality digital experiences.
Collaborate with designers to develop web graphics, animations, icons, and visual elements.
Ensure design consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Optimize images, graphics, and layouts for performance and speed.
Implement basic SEO best practices (metadata, headings, alt tags, readability, etc.).
Test layouts across browsers and devices to maintain reliable user experiences.

Proficient in WordPress
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
Competencies The Web Designer requirements are a strong foundation in creative problem-solving, attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and strong verbal and written communication skills in an office environment as well as the ability to take direction and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time exempt position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime may be required occasionally.
Travel None typically required.
Required Education and Experience
4-6 years of web design experience or front-end web experience.
Proficiency in WordPress, including themes, plugins, and page builder tools.
Strong understanding of responsive design, UI/UX principles, and web accessibility standards.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications.
Strong visual design skills with a refined sense of layout, typography, and color.
Preferred Education and Experience
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
Knowledge of web performance optimization best practices.
Design and layout experience.
Comfortable balancing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of government/federal contracting best practices a plus.
