Job Summary

Essential Job Functions
- Aids in the circulation of library materials including shelving and shelf maintenance.
- Processing of new items.
- Provides backup assistance at the circulation desk.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all reference and circulation policies and procedures.
- Aid in organizing city archives.
- Assists with library programs and displays
- Promotes library services and programs through the development of displays and bulletin boards, flyers, bibliographies, and other types of publicity.
- Compiles statistical information on areas of service.
- Assists Reference Librarian in reference questions, answering phones, and general public interaction
- Education: High school diploma and GED
- Bilingual English-Spanish highly preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience using integrated library system software and online resources and databases.
- Knowledge of and experience using personal computers, e-books, mobile devices, etc
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of library patron information.
- Ability to perform basic reference work, material selection, cataloging, and classification.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationship with peers and supervisor.
- Strong customer service skills.
