We are seeking a talented and creative eCommerce Photographer to take full creative and production responsibility for assigned clients. In this role, you will produce high-quality images that meet the creative standards while overseeing high-volume eCommerce productions in our studio, as well as potential on-location shoots. Your keen eye for detail and technical expertise will be essential in delivering stunning visual content.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute photography sessions in our studio.
- Collaborate closely with clients and crew to achieve outstanding imagery.
- Interpret client needs effectively and ensure their vision is realized.
- Oversee daily workflow and manage shoot schedules.
- Possess a thorough understanding of various photography styles, including on-figure fashion and tabletop product photography.
- Ensure the final image quality, including lighting, styling, cleanliness, and composition, through collaboration with the crew and retouchers.
- Determine lighting setups, composition, backgrounds, and props necessary for exceptional shooting.
- Lead the crew on set, providing guidance to stylists and assistants.
- Handle high-volume productions for assigned clients, working independently or under supervision of the VP of Photo Engineering.
- Coordinate with the Photo Engineering team to address studio needs.
- Foster a local network of eCommerce photographers, including training and mentorship.
- Develop style guides and lighting diagrams as needed per client requirements.
- Take on various roles as needed for production success, whether as photographer, digital tech, art director, stylist, or merchandise coordinator.
- Work with Producers to streamline workflows for new clients while maintaining project integrity.
- Maintain studio camera and lighting equipment, collaborating with the Equipment Manager to manage any concerns.
- Stay updated on industry trends and equipment advancements.
- Possess basic IT skills to update and troubleshoot Photography Capture Stations.
- Have experience with images destined for product packaging, understanding composition, cropping, and image quality relevant to packaging layouts.
- Adapt to the different needs of studio and on-location photography.
What You Need:
- At least 4 years of experience in eCommerce commercial photography, especially in consumer goods; home goods and/or hardlines experience is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of expertise in digital photography techniques, including lighting, composition, and color quality.
Bonus Qualifications:
- A commercial photography portfolio showcasing your knowledge of digital photography.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related Arts/Creative field.
- Extensive knowledge of Canon camera systems.
- Experience with studio lighting and understanding on-location lighting requirements.
- Proficiency in the Mac platform.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Capture One Pro.
- Willingness to learn and utilize in-house image capture systems.
- Expertise in photography post-production and retouching.
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions and work effectively under pressure.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in prioritization, multitasking, and completing projects.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
- Experience in data and asset coordination and management.
- Additional photography experience in sectors such as fashion, food, or luxury industries is a plus.
