Summary Of Job Classification Provides professional real‑time reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings and conferences. Employees in this classification have obtained their Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and have a completion of at least 96% accuracy on one of the following examinations: Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC), Certified CART Provider (CCP) through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA); or the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter (FCRR).
This requisition is regarding position #60307 for a vacant court reporter position. We are posting 3 requisitions: Court Reporter II, Court Reporter III, and Court Reporter IV. We will fill the one open position according to the credentials held by applicants in either of these postings.

Essential Functions
Provide real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings.
Manage and maintain records and prioritize transcript production.
Prepare required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05-03 and local policies and procedures.
Ensure backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts including reporter dictionaries, CAT software files, and stenographic machine files.
Assist team members, work on various hearings and/or trials as a team, share files and work product, and attend weekly meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees. The work performed by the majority of employees is semi complex.
Human Collaboration Work may require providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. Interactions have limited impact.
Knowledge & Skills Work requires advanced skills and advanced & extensive knowledge of work. Incumbent can handle complex tasks and translate complex nuances related to aspects of the job. Recognized by others within the organization for technical depth of knowledge. Likely impact on organization is standard.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Equivalency: Associate's degree or 2 years of college, or additional work experience substituted year for year.
Work Related Experience: 1 to 3 years of court reporting experience.
Licenses And Certifications: RPR certification through the NCRA plus meet national standard for Realtime (96% accuracy on one of the applicable exams).
Physical Effort Requirements: Medium Work – exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Work Environment: Good – relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Work Location: Office or similar indoor environment.
Exposures: Individuals who are hostile or irate; individuals with known violent backgrounds.
