Role Summary

The Legal Department’s Commercial Legal team seeks an experienced attorney to support PayPal’s growing Ads business. The successful candidate will provide clear, solution‑oriented legal advice, manage complex transactions, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to enable business growth while mitigating risk.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic legal advice that supports business strategy and manages risk.
  • Resolve high‑stakes legal issues, including disputes and regulatory challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Partner with business counterparts across the enterprise to deliver effective legal services.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk‑management frameworks.
  • Escalate complex matters to senior legal leadership as needed.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including data provider, ad platform, technology vendor, and advertising partnership contracts.
  • Advise on privacy, data use, and regulatory risks related to advertising innovations.
  • Collaborate with procurement and Legal colleagues to design scalable contracting strategies and efficient processes.

Expected Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of relevant in‑house or law firm experience.
  • Strong expertise in advertising, media, or digital marketing transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with a detail‑oriented, solution‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven experience in commercial contracting, data privacy, and technology transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders.

Compensation

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. For more information, visit PayPal Benefits.
