Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communication develops and implements marketing and communication strategies that enhance the academic reputation of the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing (FCN) and drive awareness of the College’s academic programs, with an emphasis on graduate programs. The role reports to the Director of Communication and Marketing, executing the College’s strategy in alignment with Villanova’s brand and ensuring multi‑channel marketing and integrated communications strategies are optimized to generate engagement and support enrollment goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies to generate awareness and support enrollment goals for graduate programs, in alignment with Villanova’s brand.
- Serve as the College’s main point of contact with the university’s media agency, collaborating on program‑specific marketing campaigns.
- Write copy and collaborate with university designers to develop creative campaign assets, including drip marketing campaigns that cultivate program leads.
- Monitor, measure, and analyze advertising initiatives, reporting results to various constituencies.
- Coordinate and complete multiple time‑sensitive deadlines and goals.
- Write and execute content to ensure the College’s key messages are effectively communicated across print, web, and social media platforms.
- Develop college resources including social media assets, presentations, and collateral materials, ensuring consistency in branding.
- Manage the FCN website and social media accounts, updating content and implementing tactics that include video and other digital media.
- Promote College events and support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, media, journalism, English, public relations, or a related discipline.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of marketing and communications experience in a professional environment.
- Work Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail; strong project management and problem‑solving skills; ability to work within a team environment and build relationships across the university; poised, professional demeanor and ability to work independently.
- Specific Job Knowledge: Google Analytics; current knowledge of social media marketing trends; familiarity with or working knowledge of AEM/Adobe Experience Manager.
- Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Zoom or other video conferencing platforms; video editing skills a plus.
- Other: Deep commitment to the well‑being of the College and advancement of its mission, and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree – a plus.
- Digital marketing experience – preferred.
- Experience within higher education – preferred.
Physical Requirements
- May need to work evenings, weekends, and travel within the region as demands of the job dictate.
Salary
Position falls within salaried grade 13; salary range $65,000‑$70,000. Final salary will be determined with consideration of qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
