Graphic Designer / Production Specialist

FASTSIGNS® is hiring a full‑time Graphic Designer / Production Specialist (Job ID #17501) to join our team in Allen, TX.

We are looking for a creative, self‑motivated team player who can work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, and who possesses the maturity, passion, energy, and experience in the sign business to collaborate with others on the team.

As a Graphic Designer / Production Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include creating, scaling, and modifying computer‑generated full‑color graphics, outputting vinyl for cutting or printing, and interacting with customers to ensure satisfaction. Additional duties include ripping final art files for printing or cutting, and working with raster and vector files to edit, resize, scale, and finalize layer images.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Should

  • Prioritize tasks and work autonomously.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Be accountable for the expected workload.
  • Determine the best output method based on customer needs.
  • Read, interpret, and allocate appropriate time to a work order.
  • Collaborate with co‑workers and customers using file transfers, FTP access, photo libraries, online proofs, etc.
  • Design layout, select style and size of type, and arrange illustrative material to meet aesthetic, design, and production requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction following client or supervisor instructions.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output, ensuring correct material and device settings.
  • Maintain customer logo library and convert graphic files.
  • Source images, understand copyright laws, and manage stock image resources.
  • Provide proofs as necessary for customer approval.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of file storage following brand standards.
  • Communicate with sales, service members, production team, and management regarding job requirements and inventory needs.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
  • Participate in the brand mentality of “Everybody Sells,” constantly seeking sales opportunities for the center.

Qualifications

  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for long periods.
  • Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high‑quality work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and RIP tools for printing and cutting.
