Key Details

  • Reports To: Dean of Social Sciences & Humanities
  • Location: Bremerton, Shelton, Poulsbo campuses and remote as needed

Essential Functions

  • Teach assigned Music courses according to the schedule developed, following discipline and course outline guidelines.
  • Prepare instruction, materials and grading for assigned classes.
  • Submit records and requested documents for assigned courses as scheduled.
  • Teach face-to-face on campuses and remotely as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Music (or Music Education) required.
  • Minimum two years teaching Music, including to adults.
  • College teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Graduate level knowledge of Music, including History, Appreciation, and Theory.
  • Ability to teach college-level courses to diverse students.
  • Effective support for diverse student populations including ESL and varied ages.

Special Skills

  • Foster multicultural understanding and appreciation.
  • Demonstrate success with diverse groups.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Use of technology in instruction; experience with face-to-face, hybrid, online.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships.

  • Foster a student-centered learning environment in all classes.

Additional Information

Note: No visa sponsorship; authorized to work in the United States. Must submit official transcripts within 30 days of employment. Salary contracts based on qualifications and credits. Adjunct positions are quarterly and reviewed continuously. Benefits require a 50% load for two consecutive quarters. A background check (including criminal history) and a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form are required. Employees must reside in Washington State.
