7 News in Washington, DC has an immediate opening for a Weekend Newscast Producer. This is a great way to get a foot in the door and hone your producing skills in a shop where expectations are high and producers are editorial leaders tasked with building compelling, distinctive, viewer‑focused shows. The Successful Candidate:

• Multi‑platform news consumer, well‑versed in major storylines of the day.
• Solid news judgment.
• Writes impactful, concise scripts quickly.
• Communicates clearly with colleagues and talent on the set.
• Able to manage time and meet show deadlines
• Responds positively to feedback and makes adjustments as required.
• Flexible in responding to late updates and breaking news
• Able to troubleshoot effectively and calmly in the booth.
• Understands news is a 24‑7 business and may require nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years news producing experience at a commercial TV station
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or similar preferred.
• Familiarity with iNews, Xpression, Tagboard and Avid a plus.
