$5,176.89 to $6,292.55 per month

ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through nine divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Community Development, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.

the position

Under supervision of the Health Promotion Supervisor, this position will perform health promotion and disease prevention activities including community outreach, education, mobilization, and implementation of program goals and effectiveness to help guide the County’s health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in health education, health promotion, public administration, public policy, or related field and three years’ experience in any professional employment related to the development and promotion of health programs.
  • Minimum of two years' experience conducting community outreach, organizing, or public health education work, or any satisfactory equivalent combination of expertise and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties described above.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
  • Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the state of Oregon.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in public health or related graduate degree. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES); Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS).
  • Experience with intercultural communication and ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
  • Experience and/or education in data analysis.
