Job Summary

The Post Producer is in charge of executing the creative and production vision, in a hands‑on position, to meet and exceed the client’s expectations. They take ownership in managing project timelines, personnel, and conflicts that arise during the post‑production process. They find the best solution to changing scope and deliveries by understanding how to quickly pivot to a new direction. They understand the details and processes that go into a post‑production workflow and pipeline.

Location: Chicago, IL

Hourly Salary Rate Range: $80,000 – $95,000

Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Executive Producers to implement all assigned projects into the post‑production pipeline.
  • Experience putting together budgets and timelines for post‑production jobs.
  • Experience with 2D, 3D, Live‑Action Video, and Editorial.
  • Provide regular updates on project timelines and budget to the Executive Producer.
  • Enforce guidelines and parameters for the post‑production artists throughout the life of each project.
  • Acts as the day‑to‑day contact with the internal Account team and Agency partners once the project has gone into post‑production.
  • Reports any/all client requests, outside of the scope of work, to the Executive Producer.
  • Oversees day‑to‑day post‑production, ensuring all projects and operations are running smoothly.
  • Should projects need additional freelancers or third‑party assistance outside the Designory in‑house roster, the Post Producer will inform the Executive Producer of additional costs for approval.
  • Ensure that the artistic and creative integrity of the project is executed properly according to client needs and Creative Director recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a Post Producer role
  • Excellent client, time management, verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and works well under tight and changing deadlines
  • Understanding of post‑production costs and workflow
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Strong problem solver in a video production setting
  • Knowledge of video production, video specs, camera specs, and video compression
  • Experience using post‑production applications (Resolve, Adobe Products, ProTools) is a plus
  • Experience with estimating/budgeting projects is a plus
