If so, we want to hear from you! The Village of Schaumburg is seeking a dynamic Web and Multimedia Communications Specialist to lead our digital presence and public outreach efforts. In this role, you’ll shape how we connect with our community—online and beyond.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Director of Communications and Outreach and plans, develops, and executes strategic public relations, communications, digital media, and website initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing multi-media content, managing and maintaining the Village’s websites and microsites, conducting digital system and data analysis, and supporting public engagement and communications efforts. The position serves as the primary website manager and digital systems analyst, responsible for website accuracy, accessibility, technical troubleshooting, analytics reporting, and cross-department web liaison training. Additional responsibilities include managing social media content, producing fact sheets and e-newsletters, and supporting village wide communications strategies and campaigns. This position performs a wide range of complex, confidential, and routine communication and administrative duties.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Oversees social media content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and responses while maintaining the department’s editorial content calendar.
2. Assists with creating, editing, monitoring, and producing digital publications, including The Progress Report E-Newsletter and department email templates, and supports departments with digital promotional materials.
3. Maintains accurate, accessible, and up-to-date content for the Village website and subsidiary marketing microsites. Manages formatting, embeds/I-frames, forms, plugin updates, troubleshooting content management system (CMS) issues, and coordinating technical support tickets with the Village’s web provider.
4. Performs ongoing reviews for accuracy, omissions, broken links, accessibility compliance, Search Engine Optimization.(SEO), and overall user experience.
5. Trains and supports website content liaisons and customer service requests (CSRs) to ensure proper content management system (CMS) use and compliance with Village branding and accessibility standards.
6. Regularly updates website forms, interactive elements, and plug-ins to ensure compatibility, performance, and consistent functionality.
7. Oversees system reviews that include data crawls, accessibility checks, and Search Engine Optimization.(SEO) enhancements; assists in developing new website features, microsites, and splash pages.
8. Serves as project manager for new digital media tools and major digital initiatives, including future website redesigns, mobile applications, and platform upgrades.
9. Pulls and analyzes analytics and related platform data; monitors, evaluates, and reports on the department’s key performance indicators and metrics; prepares digital performance reports and recommendations; and collaborates with departments to support public relations and public information strategies across all digital communication outlets.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, web design/development, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in digital communications, web administration, content management systems, multimedia production, data/website analytics, or a related field. Ability to demonstrate competency through verifiable portfolio and references.
3. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
4. Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $86,287.00 - $95,995.00 annually dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $86,287.00 - $125,117.00.
