Project IT Manager II
Telecom / Cellular Engineering (Charlotte, NC) Overview We are seeking a Project IT Manager II to lead and manage multiple Telecom/Cellular Engineering initiatives. This role oversees full project lifecyclesplanning, execution, vendor coordination, reporting, and closeout. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Telecom, Cellular technology, or IT infrastructure and excels in leading matrixed teams and coordinating with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership Manage all phases of project planning and execution, ensuring delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, environmental, and communication standards. Provide leadership and coordination to internal technical teams and external vendors/contractors. Lead or co-lead project meetings: kickoffs, weekly updates, monthly reviews, and governance presentations. Project Planning & Controls Develop and manage comprehensive project plans according to PMO standards, including: Scope definition Budget development and cost control Schedule creation and management Risk and quality plans Procurement and contracting strategies Vendor and equipment selection Safety, environmental, and security plans Change management Data and communications plans Integration, commissioning, and project turnover Cross-Functional Coordination Interface with functional managers and leaders across engineering, IT, operations, and external agencies. Ensure alignment between stakeholders and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting Prepare and present project status reports to leadership and key stakeholders. Ensure transparency, accurate tracking, and proper documentation for all project phases.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 5+ years of project management experience High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years of project management experience. Experience managing multiple medium-scale projects simultaneously. Strong background in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management. PMP or CAPM certification. Experience with Telecom, Cellular engineering, or IT/Technology infrastructure projects. Experience leading matrixed teams and presenting to senior leadership. Background working in regulated, utility-like, or highly structured technical environments.
