Entry‑Level Designer – Fire Protection Division Job Summary:
A Fire Protection Designer is responsible for assisting with the layout, design, and implementation of water‑based fire protection systems. This entry‑level position does not require existing knowledge of fire protection systems or formal training/related education. Our experienced design team will train you in all aspects of the job and its responsibilities. This role is structured to provide the hands‑on training necessary for success, while becoming an integral part of and contributing to the Fire Protection team.
If you're a go‑getter and have interests/experience that include Engineering, Product Design, 3‑D Design, Mechanical Design, Construction, Architecture, Project Management, or related fields, we strongly encourage you to apply!
Responsibilities:
Review project specifications and requirements with the design team
Utilize design software to create sprinkler system layouts
Utilize software to perform hydraulic calculations
Create material submittal packets and organize submittals
Assist Designers with field surveys and coordination
Utilize design software to draft installation drawings and material lists
Complete record drawings for finished installations
Work with a team of Project Managers and Designers to learn the industry

Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Exposure to or experience with some type of CAD or design software
Basic mechanical understanding or aptitude
Ability to learn and apply understanding
Communication and collaboration skills
Problem‑solving skills and aptitude
Workplace Type Onsite 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Pay Range $60,000‑$85,000, dependent on experience
