Mechanical Designer / CNC Programmer – Sheet Metal, CAD, CAM & ERP Data Base pay range: $55,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Position Summary

We are seeking a

Mechanical Designer / CNC Programmer

to support sheet‑metal modeling, CAD cleanup, CNC programming, and ERP data entry. This role takes customer or internal designs and prepares them for manufacturing by creating models, flat patterns, programs, BOMs, routings, and clear fabrication documentation.

This position is

hands‑on and production‑driven , working directly with project managers, programmers, and shop personnel to ensure every part is correct, manufacturable, and ready for fabrication.

Responsibilities Design & Modeling

Create and update

SolidWorks

models for brackets, sheet‑metal parts, weldments, and assemblies

Clean up customer CAD files, correct errors, and prepare manufacturable part models

Generate fabrication drawings, hardware notes, bend details, and weld callouts

Programming & Flat Patterns

Create

flat patterns

with correct bend deductions and forming logic

Program

lasers, punches, tube lasers, and press brakes

using CADMAN Suite and

Artube

Prepare setup sheets, job travelers, and programming documentation

ERP Data Entry & Accuracy

Build and maintain

BOMs

inside Fulcrum ERP

Create and maintain

routings , including operations and cycle times

Ensure part data, metadata, revisions, and release steps are accurate and complete

Production Support

Work closely with brake operators, laser operators, welders, and assembly teams

Troubleshoot issues related to forming, cut quality, weld fit‑up, and hardware

Support quick‑turn updates and engineering changes as needed

Assist in improving clarity and consistency of engineering handoff to production

What You Bring

Experience with

CNC programming

(laser, punch, press brake, or tube laser) or mechanical design/drafting

Strong

SolidWorks

skills (sheet metal and weldments preferred)

Understanding of fabrication processes: cutting, forming, welding, hardware, assembly

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, GD&T, bend lines, and weld symbols

Experience with ERP systems (BOMs, routings, revisions) preferred

Comfortable working in a high‑speed, high‑mix manufacturing environment

No engineering degree required
