General Description SUNY Niagara has a need for a part‑time instructor to teach a Public Relations course in our Communication Studies department. Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY.

Remuneration: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour.

The department will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated as needed and candidates will be contacted when a position is opened. Candidates may or may not be notified of their application status.

Typical Work Activities

Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon

Track attendance as needed

Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester

Report grades at the conclusion of the semester

Essential Functions Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population; ability to speak in front of groups; effective communication with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community; development, preparation, and presentation of information; computer proficiency; physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, or a related field

Demonstrated evidence of knowledge and experience (educational and/or professional) in the public relations field

Desirable Qualifications

Master’s degree or terminal degree in Communication, Public Relations, or related area

Demonstrated evidence of knowledge of the public relations field and experience administering public relations campaigns

Experience teaching college‑level courses

Experience with instructional technology and teaching in virtual formats
