Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Senior Producer of the LIFE TODAY program in all aspects of production, as assigned by producer. Specific assignments to this position include editing studio segments of assigned shows each week and occasional producing/editing of various segments & projects on an as needed basis.
DIRECTION Associate Producer will work as a member of the production team, assisting the producer(s) to whom assigned and working under their direction. Specific duties assigned may involve research, interaction with and transportation of taping guests, editing, evaluating footage, helping in a variety of positions during taping segments, scheduling, and correspondence. As a member of the team, the Associate Producer is welcomed and expected to contribute original ideas for shows, interviews, and approaches.
DAILY FUNCTIONS Assignments may vary, usually relating to the basic activities described above. Attendance at planning sessions will help give form and direction to specific duties assigned. Participating in and even directing field shoots for documentation may occur. There will be decisions to make responsibly but quickly. Scheduling of tapings and editing, maintaining proper paperwork and applying discernment and good judgment will be important to the individual and the group.
KEYS TO SUCCESS The position involves relating positively and productively with a variety of people. Often the associate will be working under close supervision and always will be affected by the work and time allotments of others. Being flexible, adaptable to change in procedures and assignments, keeping cool under stress, meeting deadlines, ability to work independently or with a team and showing dependability will be important. Able to think pictorially. Committed to sharing the Gospel. Excited by seeing people changed and helped through the LIFE TODAY television program and other LOI outreaches.
REPORTS TO/EVALUATED ON Reports to: Senior Producer of LIFE Today
Quality shown in completion of assigned projects.
Ability to contribute as a member of a working group.
Demonstration of dependability and cooperation.
Qualifications
College degree. Previous television production experience.
Experience with non-linear editing systems.
Writing skills and basic computer skills for word processing.
Helpful training would be that pertaining to script writing, camera operations, directing or other studio taping functions.
