Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time | Location: Newport News, VA | Reports To: General Manager | Department: EMS
Hospital to Home LLC is a patient‑centered healthcare provider dedicated to delivering high‑quality medical care outside of traditional hospital settings, specializing in mobile integrated healthcare and transitional care services.
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide advanced medical care in the field, both in emergency and non‑emergency settings, and play a key role in bridging the gap between hospital care and home health. You will deliver safe, efficient, and clinically appropriate medical transport and support.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to calls for medical assistance, inter‑facility transfers, and in‑home assessments.
Provide advanced life support (ALS) care including medication administration, airway management, cardiac monitoring, and trauma stabilization.
Collaborate with RNs, case managers, and other health‑care professionals to support seamless patient transitions from hospital to home.
Monitor and document patient condition during transport, communicating any changes to medical personnel and receiving facilities.
Operate and maintain medical equipment and the ambulance in a state of readiness.
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation of all patient care provided.
Educate patients and families on medications, follow‑up care, and health management when applicable.
Uphold patient confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in EMS or related field preferred.
Current State Paramedic License (and NREMT if required by state).
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (valid for 3 years or more).
Physical lifting requirements: 125 lbs. individually & 250 lbs. assisted.
EVOC certification or equivalent preferred.
Strong interpersonal and clinical assessment skills.
Prior experience in EMS, mobile healthcare, or community paramedicine a plus.
Compassionate, detail‑oriented, and committed to patient‑centered care.
Must maintain certification through OEMS as Paramedic.
Working Conditions
Variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work may involve physically demanding tasks and exposure to varying environmental conditions.
