Title: Audience Development — Multiple Levels (Editor/Specialist to Senior Editor/Senior Specialist)

About the Role(s):

The California Post is building out its brand new audience development team, and we’re on the hunt for energetic, news‑savvy individuals who know the cadence of a newsroom and live for fast‑moving stories. We’re hiring across multiple levels, including:

• Audience Development Specialist / Senior Specialist
• Social Media Editor / Senior Social Media Editor
• Senior Newsletter Manager
• Social Content Creator

If you come from a newsroom or reporting background, and have experience in social media, newsletters, SEO, digital content growth, or audience engagement, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do (varies by level):

• Track and analyze audience metrics such as traffic, engagement, conversions
• Develop and execute growth strategies across social media, newsletters, SEO, and other digital channels
• Collaborate with editorial and content teams to amplify stories and optimize reach
• Lead projects, campaigns, and initiatives (senior/manager‑level roles)
• Mentor associates and coordinate cross‑team efforts (senior/manager‑level roles)
• Build and maintain content calendars, dashboards, and audience growth experiments

Who You Are (varies by level):

• Thrive in a fast‑paced newsroom or digital content environment
• Social media savvy, with experience in content optimization, SEO, newsletters, or audience growth
• Strong communicator — written and verbal — and able to collaborate with editorial teams
• Flexible, proactive, and ready to wear multiple hats

Salary Range: $65,000 – $120,000

Note: This range reflects multiple levels, from junior/associate specialists to senior specialists and manager roles, and will be adjusted based on experience and responsibilities.
