JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will plan, develop, and promote an engaging arts program that nurtures creativity and self-expression among our youth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare Youth for Success
- Create an inspiring environment that enables youth to achieve personal growth.
- Encourage daily participation in arts programs and special events.
- Introduce new members to the arts initiatives and club safety guidelines.
- Serve as a positive role model and provide guidance to club members.
Program Implementation
- Administer, monitor, and evaluate all arts programs and activities.
- Develop and share weekly and monthly program plans.
- Maintain high safety standards and quality in program activities.
- Recognize and celebrate club members' participation and achievements.
- Keep accurate records of attendance and participation.
Supervision
- Ensure discipline and order among club members.
- Train and guide volunteers and program assistants effectively.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment during staff meetings.
- Work alongside visiting artists and participate in special projects.
Supplies Management
- Track and order necessary supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
- Keep the supply room organized and accessible.
Facility Maintenance
- Ensure the program area is safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
- Request repairs for facility and equipment as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support the team in delivering high-quality programs as needed.
- Engage in ongoing training and educational opportunities to enhance skills.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Maintain daily interactions with club staff, members, and supervisors for effective communication and program coordination.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least three years of experience working with youth and a background in arts and crafts.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in motivating youth and managing behavior challenges.
- Ability to design and implement engaging programs for youth.
- Skill in organizing and supervising in a safe environment.
- Resourceful in obtaining donated or free supplies and fostering community involvement.
ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
This role requires consistent interaction with club staff, members, and outside organizations. The work environment is primarily office-based, with occasional travel for special events and field trips. Flexibility is essential, as evening and some weekend work may be required. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects over 25 lbs. Some outdoor and physically challenging activities may be part of the role.
