Basic Function
Under guidance from the Dean, Department Chair, or Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member provides academic instruction to students in assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction via lecture, lab, or performance courses and assess student learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations.
- Advise students on programs of study, higher‑education options, and effective study skills.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction aligned with approved course outlines to maximize student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, academic progress, curriculum, and outcomes; prepare and submit related reports.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty; order materials according to campus bookstore procedure.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

- Current theory and practice within the subject discipline.
- Principles and best practices of effective teaching.

- Demonstrate thorough knowledge in the subject field.
- Deliver course curricula in various learning styles.
- Show sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and needs of students with disabilities.
- Integrate emerging instructional delivery technologies.
- Maintain professional standards protecting student confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with tact and courtesy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a master’s degree from a recognized graduate institution or equivalent experience and professional recognition.

Physical Abilities
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- Ability to speak, exchange information, inspire, and make presentations.
- Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods, push, pull, or lift light objects, and bend or reach to store or retrieve files.
Working Environment
Indoor classroom environment; may involve visiting various campus classroom sites.
Hiring Range
$32–$34.50 per hour.
