Overview

The Technical Writer & Project Manager will support new product development for electromechanical products within the Industrial Division by writing technical documentation and managing projects. The role works with engineers, service technicians, program managers, and subject matter experts to create Installation and Operations Manuals, Service and Maintenance Manuals, Quick Start Guides, Datasheets, and other documents for battery energy storage systems (BESS), lithium batteries, chargers, and related products. The documentation includes product operating principles, tools, spare parts, consumables, technical specifications, and procedures for maintenance interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize technical information from drawings and manuals to develop standard documentation, including product manuals, operating manuals, service and maintenance manuals, etc.
  • Write documents that explain technical information clearly for a non-technical audience while maintaining high technical accuracy.
  • Include bills of materials for spare parts and consumables as needed.
  • Coordinate with Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, supervisors, subject matter experts, and operators to gather data for documentation and identify activities improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively inform managers on assignment status, issues, or concerns, including scope and schedule.

Project Management

  • Take responsibility for delivering assigned projects in line with agreed Start of Production (SOP)/ Commercialization date.
  • Create and maintain a feasible timeline that drives project execution on time.
  • Scope and maintain Key Performance Indicators and Project Performance Metrics aligned with business strategy and meet budget and cash flow needs.
  • Manage projects within budget, report and adjust monthly.
  • Select and manage the core team and functional experts to deliver assigned projects, removing roadblocks where necessary.
  • Update and maintain all relevant project documents (Timeline, Project Charter, Escalation One Pager Reports, and Gate passage documentation).
  • Drive the project through the gate system within the required timing.
  • Organize completion of Project Charter and Gate Presentation documents for gate reviews.
  • Communicate active and upcoming tasks on a weekly basis to project team members.
  • Organize and lead regular team meetings to ensure communication with team, sponsor, cross‑functional stakeholders, and PMO, and drive issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of technical writing experience required.
  • 1-3 years of project management experience required.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Highly skilled in technical documentation and drawing interpretation.
  • Demonstrated talent for translating technical verbal descriptions into coherent written work documents and instructions.
  • Strong English language, verbal communication and writing skills required.
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple products/projects and track product life cycle from planning through launch.
  • Self‑motivated, ambitious, and able to organize and prioritize daily work to perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Highly motivated problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Experience in energy storage, lithium batteries or charger product documentation would be an asset.
  • MS Office skills, especially Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS‑Project and Excel.
  • Knowledge of QMS, ISO, industry standards, military or commercial standards and associated procedures is considered an asset.

Work Environment

  • This position requires you to be on site at our Alpharetta, GA headquarters office.
  • Office based environment.
  • Occasional on‑site visits to manufacturing facilities.
  • Occasional short‑term travel may be required.
