Salary: $34 per hour (W2)
About the role Hunter Scouts is working with a large consumer brand based in Grand Rapids, MI to hire a hands‑on Art Director / Graphic Designer for a 12‑month, on‑site contract. You will concept, design, and deliver brand‑aligned assets across digital channels, lead art direction for holistic campaigns, and produce motion graphics and basic video edits as needed. This is a collaborative role working closely with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals, timelines, and brand standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute graphic design and art direction from concept through production for holistic campaigns.
Design digital and social assets that meet brand standards and platform best practices.
Create motion graphics and perform basic video editing (After Effects, Premiere).
Develop and refine presentations and marketing collateral, including PowerPoint decks.
Present concepts, iterate on feedback, and maintain consistency across deliverables.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to meet project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
Requirements
Must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI and be able to work on‑site 40 hours per week in Grand Rapids.
2–4 years' experience in graphic design and art direction (must provide portfolio link with clearly attributed individual contributions).
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a W2 basis without employer sponsorship (no C2C).
Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft PowerPoint; hands‑on experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
Strong applied knowledge of color, composition, and typography; demonstrated experience taking campaigns from concept through execution and designing for digital/social channels.
Preferred Skills
Experience presenting creative concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
Experience working within established brand systems and guidelines.
Experience producing platform‑specific social ad deliverables (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
Prior experience on an in‑house creative team for a consumer brand.
Notes
W2 contract only; no sponsorship or C2C vendors will be considered.
Contract is 12 months with possible multi‑year extension(s).
