About the Role
The Digital Producer, Podcasts helps shape, produce, and publish HW Media's growing portfolio of shows. This role manages end-to-end production-from planning and guest coordination to editing, distribution, and performance tracking. You'll work closely with hosts, editors, marketing, and the Content Studio to ensure podcasts are high-quality, on-brand, and consistently on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Editorial
- Manage the full lifecycle of podcast episodes, including planning, recording logistics, editing, and publishing.
- Edit audio for clarity, pacing, sound quality, and narrative flow.
- Support hosts and guests during remote and in-studio recording sessions.
- Draft engaging, SEO-informed episode titles, descriptions, and show notes.
- Maintain production calendars and proactively manage deadlines.
- Operate recording and editing software (e.g., Riverside, Zoom, Adobe Audition, etc.) and troubleshoot issues.
- Upload and publish episodes, ads and promotions across major platforms (Megaphone, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, etc.).
- Manage RSS feeds, metadata, and tagging to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain strong audio standards, including mixing and leveling.
- Familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign editing.
- Schedule guests, manage communications, and prep them for recording.
- Assist hosts with distributing outlines, research, and talking points.
- Keep an organized pipeline of upcoming guests and episodes.
- Partner with marketing to create and distribute promotional assets (clips, audiograms, thumbnails, draft social copy).
- Align publishing schedules with editorial calendars, newsletters, and events.
- Track performance and share insights to improve engagement and audience growth.
- Maintain organized files, naming conventions, and asset libraries.
- Support and facilitate ongoing improvements to production workflows and quality standards.
- Contribute ideas for new podcast and sponsorship formats, series, and content opportunities.
- 2+ years of experience in audio production, digital media, or podcasting.
- Proficiency with audio editing tools such as Adobe Audition,
- Strong organizational and project-management skills across multiple concurrent workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of digital publishing, SEO basics (preferred), and podcast analytics.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
- Passion for storytelling and delivering great audience experiences.
- Background in content production, media, and some exposure to journalism.
- Experience producing interview-based or news-driven podcasts.
- Familiarity with basic video editing for social clips or YouTube.
