JOB DESCRIPTION:
Join one of Ashtabula County’s fastest-growing industries: Travel and Tourism. The Ashtabula County Visitors Bureau is searching for a Social Media Manager with a strong focus on partner relations and website content. This key team member will be responsible for daily management of multiple social media channels and website content, working with industry partners to tell Ohio Wine Country’s story. Ideal candidate is as comfortable crafting a Reel as they are chatting with local business owners or helping a visitor plan the perfect weekend. Position requires knowledge of Ashtabula County’s attractions and building relationships with CVB partners to learn how we can best promote their businesses. Self-starter with a solution-driven attitude is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and improve upon all social media platforms and website content, ensuring content is frequent, fresh, compelling, and consistent
Translate the Ohio Wine Country brand onto digital platforms, upholding high standards of excellence for imagery, grammar, and travel inspiration
Monitor social media channels providing timely responses to travel-related inquiries
Support in the development of ambitious social media calendar, curating content through organic posts, partners, UGC, owned media, and influencers
Routinely engage with partners to create both static and video posts across multiple digital channels + follow up with results
Monitor website content and performance via analytics, traffic, and SEO updates
Analyze data to help to ensure digital content is engaging, accurate, and high-performing
Understand trends, features, and algorithm shifts to ensure current, inspired content
Maintain an understanding of audience demographics and effective tools to penetrate different markets
Respond to customer and member inquiries in a timely and courteous fashion
Develop and execute multi-platform campaigns in tandem with Marketing Manager
Professionally represent the CVB online, around the community, and within the industry
Engage visitors in an enthusiastic manner, offering suggestions based on their interests
Maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail with ability to multitask
Organized to meet deadlines and make decisions within the framework of established goals
Identify experiences and events most appealing to visitors
Assist with day-to-day operations in the information centers
Collaborate with team to plan and execute initiatives within the county
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Demonstrated experience in Marketing/PR, Hospitality, Communications (or similar) required. Related degree is a plus.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-faceted social media platforms (at minimum Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok)
Comfort level working on website platforms to update content and monitor performance
Interest in travel industry with a visible and infectious attitude of hospitality
Creative, energetic, and passionate, and can translate that energy into an authentic message that supports a positive image of Ashtabula County
Ability to work in a team environment and provide creative solutions to problems
Self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision, and eager to be challenged and initiate projects and opportunities
Proficiency in Hootsuite, Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, Capcut (or similar) required
Weighted skills may include design software, work with marketing agency, or website design
Experience in graphic design, web content management, and/or photography a plus
Possess a valid driver’s license; some travel throughout the county required
Must read, write, speak, and understand English well
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and speaking
Must be able to lift 25+ pounds
