Designer with Glazing experience
Architectural Glass Services, Florida, New York, United States
Architectural Glazing Services (AGS) is a leader in innovative glazing solutions, delivering high-quality architectural glass systems across commercial, industrial, and specialty projects. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a strategic, creative, and field‑savvy professional who thrives on shaping impactful project experiences from concept to closeout.
The Strategic Experience Designer will play a key role in enhancing AGS’s design‑to‑installation journey by combining architectural design expertise with strong field knowledge. This role ensures that every project—from initial concept through installation—is planned, communicated, and executed with clarity, innovation, and a seamless customer and internal team experience.
This is a strategic role requiring strong problem‑solving skills, a deep understanding of glazing systems, and the ability to translate field realities into smart design decisions.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of design concepts, system layouts, and detailed drawings that reflect both architectural intent and field constructability.
Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment and a friction‑free project experience.
Conduct field walks to validate design feasibility, identify potential installation challenges, and integrate field feedback into design solutions.
Build and maintain AGS design standards, templates, and process improvements that enhance quality and overall customer experience.
Create visual presentations, concept packages, and communication tools to support seamless client engagement.
Support preconstruction efforts by providing strategic design input, value‑engineering recommendations, and material/technical insights.
Serve as a bridge between the design studio and field operations, ensuring clear documentation, scope alignment, and installation‑ready drawings.
Requirements
3–5+ years of experience in architectural design, glazing systems, or façade/cladding environments.
Strong understanding of field operations, constructability principles, and installation processes related to glazing or architectural systems.
