Position Description

Position: Graphic Designer

Department: Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Director of Communications

About DRI:

DRI is the leading organization of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Membership in DRI supports the success of the civil defense bar and the businesses it serves through business development, an international platform, education, advocacy, leadership development and networking.

Position Description:

This individual will provide graphic design work for digital and physical marketing materials across seminars, membership campaigns, publications, and more to support the growth of DRIs membership reach, brand awareness efforts, sponsorship platform, communications department, and special projects. A successful candidate will champion DRIs brand and ensure a consistent, relevant, and compelling visual presence throughout the organizations repertoire of products and services.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in graphic design, art, or similar field

1-3 years of professional graphic design experience in an agency or in-house environment

Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), as well as Outlook and SharePoint

Strong visual sense and awareness of brand identity; solid understanding of design principles and tools while demonstrating a sharp attention to detail

Experience with social media and web graphics/website design

Proven project management skills and ability to work independently

Ability to monitor, manage and execute on a variety of tasks and efforts at different stages of discovery and execution; handle large request queue; and deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Experience with Sitefinity and Informz preferred

Video creation, production and editing skills preferred

Copywriting skills preferred

Responsibilities:

Oversee all design initiatives for DRI, including print and digital brochures, presentations, social and paid media assets, seminar signage, website graphics, publication layout, video creation and/or editing, meeting graphics, and other design projects as needed

Develop creative strategies for projects that align with DRIs brand guidelines and visually communicate project initiatives that inspire action

Responsible for tracking workflow, ensuring that jobs are completed in required time frames to

client specifications

Management of branding guidelines

Discuss strategy and concepts before visual design work begins, as well as present and explain the benefits of design solutions

Other duties, as assigned

Working Conditions

This position works 37.5 hours per week in person Monday through Friday around core business hours

Some travel may be required

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

This is a hybrid position, with a full-time employee working 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday in Chicago, which currently includes three (3) office days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesdays as a mandatory office days.
