Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
CAD Designer/Drafter
to join our engineering team. This role is onsite. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineers to remodel legacy products, update existing designs to meet current standards, and support new product development. This role involves creating precise 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and production documentation for a wide range of mechanical and electrical assemblies, including sheet metal components and wire harness systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Work with engineers to
remodel and update legacy products
to align with current design and manufacturing standards. Design and modify
sheet metal parts, wire, and cable harnesses
using SolidWorks CAD software. Generate accurate and detailed
manufacturing and assembly drawings
in accordance with GD&T standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet
manufacturing goals . Manage and maintain
CAD models, drawings, and documentation
through PDM systems and configuration management protocols. Participate in
design reviews
and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all documentation adheres to internal revision control and product lifecycle management standards. Education:
High School Diploma
or equivalent required. Additional technical or CAD-specific coursework or certification preferred. Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of proven experience
in SolidWorks CAD modeling (3DEXPERIENCE platform experience a plus). Strong understanding of
sheet metal design, wire routing, configuration management, and revision control . Hands-on experience with
PDM systems
for file and design management. Working knowledge of
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
principles. Proficient in
GD&T
and capable of producing fully dimensioned, production-ready drawings. Highly
detail-oriented
with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality. Ability to work effectively in a
fast-paced, collaborative environment . Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent
verbal and written communication skills . Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
Bill of Materials (BOM) control and creation . SolidWorks or other CAD software certification
(CSWA, CSWP, or equivalent). Exposure to
manufacturing processes
