Your New Role...

We are currently looking for an Evening Breaking News Editor to join CNN's fast-paced 24/7 news operation. In this critical role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of editors and writers to shape live digital news coverage. You will play a key role in prioritizing the day's news, from sharing timely updates to putting context around swift-moving stories. Your responsibilities will include assigning news reporting and managing transitions for live coverage between the United States and our Asia-Pacific teams.

Your Role Accountabilities...

• Coordinate updates on significant stories leveraging CNN's extensive global presence.
• Work closely with writers to enhance our breaking news coverage with thorough reporting.
• Collaborate with other editors to update and organize coverage, incorporating visual and video elements.
• Create high-visibility content that provides essential information for worldwide audiences.
• Partner across the network to ensure every update is vetted and ready for publication.
• Be prepared to work weekends in the event of major news developments.

Qualifications & Experience...

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or English preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on digital writing.
• Excellent news judgment and copy-editing capabilities.
• Ability to adapt quickly between multiple news events in a day.
• Strong writing skills aligned with our news reporting standards.
• Proficient in integrating media into written content (photos, videos, tweets, etc.).
• Adept at adapting to new publishing protocols.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

In line with local law, we disclose salary ranges for this role. Base pay is one part of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package, which also includes various employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $77,840.00 - $144,560.00 per year.
