We are looking to recruit a full‑time Research Manager who is inquisitive with a passion for data and research, to join our Markets team to support research of the TV, telecoms and online video market. The primary responsibilities of this role include the collection of data relating to the economics, advertising and content spending patterns of companies in these areas, the publication of high‑quality, data‑driven editorial output, and prospect interaction.

The role would sit within Ampere’s Markets team, working closely with Hannah Walsh, who leads the division, and Callum Sillars who has been spearheading Ampere’s new ad monitoring solutions for the streaming market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading our advertising market forecasting work, collaborating with colleagues across the company to enhance our coverage across broadcast, online, audio, gaming and publishing sectors
  • Developing new advertising models to support and strengthen Ampere’s existing data – for example, models for social media advertising revenues
  • Producing editorial content on key advertising video trends, including reports, thought pieces and PR
  • Operating with a global, cross‑market perspective, ensuring models and insights reflect international trends and the dynamics of multiple advertising markets
  • Driving Ampere’s profile in the advertising market, ensuring the quality and recognition of our research and data. This includes building and maintaining external relationships with partners such as GroupM/WPP, industry bodies such as the IAB, and a personal network across key media owners and agencies
  • Supporting Ampere’s commercial team by contributing to lead generation through social presence, personal industry contacts, thought‑leadership pieces, and presence at industry events
  • Building strong relationships with Ampere’s clients, becoming a trusted point‑of‑contact for research and market development questions related to your areas of expertise
  • Supporting and leading custom consulting projects for clients, which may range from in‑depth business strategy projects to bespoke market forecasts, regulatory and policy advisory work, and other tailored research

Skills & Experiences

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2‑4 years’ experience in a research, strategy, or analysis role in the advertising sector, gained through experience at an agency, an ad tech company, or within an ad sales team of a publisher or platform.
  • Analytical: An eye for detail and pattern recognition is a key part of the job – understanding and really getting to grips with the nuances that underpin the video advertising and content industries
  • Communication: We would like to work with people who can develop the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and simple manner – both in‑person and through written briefings
  • Flexible: Enjoy learning and want to improve a wide range of skills – such as data modelling, data analysis, industry knowledge, and other related skills
  • Enthusiasm: We’re looking for a candidate who enjoys research, who has (or could develop) an interest in becoming an expert in the TV sector
  • Technical: comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of a programming language (Python/SQL) is a plus but not essential
